Congressional global warming hearing cancelled because of snowfall

They’re calling it the ‘Al Gore effect’ – a congressional hearing on climate change and global warming has had to be postponed because of unseasonably icy weather in Washington DC today.

Climate skeptics have often joked that whenever former US vice president and Inconvenient Truth author Al Gore turns up to speak about global warming, he’s often accompanied by heavy snowfall.

The Copenhagen climate change conference in 2009 ground to a halt in blizzard conditions after Gore spoke there.
