CHICAGO _ Does this mean the honeymoon is over?

Some of the guests attending a wedding reception at a Skokie banquet hall Wednesday night apparently didn’t hold their peace, as police said the celebration turned into an altercation that left six people injured.

Police were called about 1 a.m. Thursday to what they described as a “domestic” situation at Zhivago’s Restaurant and Banquet in the Chicago suburb. The restaurant manager said the fight happened earlier, at about 11:45 p.m.

One person was cut by a beer bottle, and five others were injured either by fists or bottles, said Skokie Police Officer Joe Marzigliano.

Zhivago’s general manager, Oleg Biloshkurskiy, said about 60 people were on hand for the family wedding when he realized that a fight had erupted outside. He said the confrontation seemed to revolve mainly around two people who were apparently cousins. Biloshkurskiy said seven or eight people were involved, and that some were bleeding from facial cuts.

As of late Thursday, there had been no arrests, and no one had filed a complaint, Marzigliano said. Police were still investigating.

The six injured revelers were taken to two hospitals. The injuries were not believed to be serious.
