Eight missing and three dead after ship sinks in the Phillipines

Manila (dpa) – Rescuers recovered Wednesday three bodies of
crewmen from a cargo ship that sank last weekend in the central
Philippines, a coast guard report said.

Eight crew members were still missing after the 498-ton SF
Freighter sank Saturday off Romblon province, 225 kilometres south of
Manila. The ship captain and two others more crewmen were rescued two
days later in nearby Quezon province.

The ship was carrying steel bars when it was hit by large waves
and strong winds. It left Manila on Thursday and was on its way to
       the central province of Cebu.
