Chinese sex offender jailed

Hong Kong (dpa) – A habitual sex offender who attacked two women,
including his own legal representative, shortly after being released
from prison for attempted rape was jailed Thursday for three years
and eight months.

Chong Tak-keung, 37, admitted molesting the two women in March and
April.

The first victim was attacked two weeks after Chong ended a
four-year jail term for attempted rape. Then Chong groped his female
legal representative when she visited him while he was in custody for
the first attack.

Judge Douglas Yau described the offences as “hideous sexual
crimes” and said Chong saw sexual harassment as a leisure activity
and psychological treatment might not be able to rectify this
distorted concept.

The judge said a deterrent sentence was needed because Chong was a
serious threat to all women in Hong Kong.
