LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20 (UPI) —
A Los Angeles city bus driver dozed off, causing the vehicle to careen off of two signs, several trees, a light pole and a bus stop, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol Sgt. Scott Hawkins said there were no passengers aboard the bus or at the bus stop, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.
A crew from Southern California Edison was dispatched to the scene of the 1:30 a.m.
PST incident in the unincorporated South Los Angeles community of Willowbrook to power down the area and repair electrical damage done by the fallen light standard, Hawkins said.
The 40-year-old driver, whose name was not released, was taken to Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Calif., to treat cuts on her hands, the Times said.
