St John Ambulance launches inquiry after story

New Zealand’s St John Ambulance has launched an inquiry into proposed awards involving a staff member accused of statutory rape of a 14 year old girl.

“St John is currently making inquiries into the issues raised and is reviewing all the available information,” chief executive Jaimes Wood told InvestigateDaily. “We are taking these concerns seriously.”

“St John has informed all the relevant parties of the decision to commence an inquiry. We expect to complete this by the end of March 2012.

“We don’t wish to jeopardise our inquiry by making further comment and it is too early to say what action will be taken once it is complete.”

The inquiry relates to this story.
