Costa Concordia – rescuers trying to free a survivor

Rome (dpa) – Firefighters were Sunday attempting to free a man still trapped inside the Costa Concordia after hearing his voice while combing the sunken cruise ship, local official Giuseppe Linardi told the Ansa news agency.

“It is difficult to reach him because the firefighters must go through flooded rooms,” said Linardi, adding that the survivor appeared to be a member of the crew.

Hours earlier, firefighters had rescued a South Korean honeymoon couple who had been trapped inside their cabin.
