New political poll asks whether Jacinda Ardern should be Labour leader

A new political poll doing the rounds of social media is asking which way people would vote if new deputy Jacinda Ardern was actually the Leader of the Labour Party.

The “Great Kiwi Poll” asks 11 questions, including whether the public approve or diaspprove of this week’s rise in the age of national superannuation eligibility to 67, and which of the two main party leadership duos – National’s or Labour’s – would be most competent to run the country.

Unlike most online polls the results while the poll is open are not visible – a statement on the poll site says it doesn’t want the results “skewed” by tribal voting in response to progress results.

Instead, the poll results will be emailed to those who take part before being released to the media.
