BELLEVUE, Wash., Nov. 6 (UPI) —
Authorities in Bellevue, Wash., searched Sunday for a 2-year-old boy whose mother says she left him in her car after it ran out of gas.
Carla Iafrate of the Bellevue police said the woman told police when the car ran out of gas about 8 a.m. she left the toddler in the car while took the boy’s 4-year-old sibling with her to go get help, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported.
The mother, whose name wasn’t released, returned to the vehicle about an hour later and the 2-year-old was gone, the online newspaper said.
The missing boy was identified as Sky Metalwala. He is of mixed Native American and Caucasian race with brown eyes, dark buzz-cut hair. He was wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt and blue and gray striped Carter pants, police said.
