100 days of D: new vitamin D push

100 DAYS OF D: NEW VITAMIN D SPRAY RELEASED TO NZ MARKET

A new way to get vitamin D has been unveiled by New Zealand natural products company Pharmabroker, which has released the DLux Vitamin D Spray bottles range from BetterYou onto pharmacy shelves.

The sprays fire a shot of vitamin D under the tongue, making them ideal for infants and children who may not be getting enough of the crucial vitamin because they can’t take the supplement in pill form.

DLux comes in three forms, 300IU for infants, 400IU for five year olds and over, and 1000IU for adults.

In a presentation to pharmacists, BetterYou explained it had opted for a spray delivery because it provides faster absorbtion of vitamin D into the bloodstream, and is less likely to be affected by any digestive issues that could affect uptake of vitamin D from a swallowed supplement.

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked in medical studies and clinical trials to higher risk of cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, allergies, mental illness and Alzheimer’s, to name a few (see related posts below).

Each spray product contains 100 daily doses, meaning you can give family members the benefits of vitamin D at less than 20cents a day.

The two children’s units retail at NZ$18.99, and the full dose at $19.99, from pharmacies everywhere.
