LONDON – Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was released Monday from hospital after a nearly two-week stay for a flu infection, with her spokeswoman saying she was completely recovered.
Thatcher, 85, was to return to her home in the course of Monday afternoon. Further details were not disclosed.
The former prime minister, dubbed Britain’s “Iron Lady,” had been admitted to the private Cromwell hospital in London on Oct. 19, suffering from a flu virus.
According to her daughter, Thatcher is suffering from age-related dementia and has also had several strokes in recent years.
