Man shoots school teacher before taking his own life

Colombo (dpa) – A man shot dead a female teacher inside a school Thursday in south-eastern Sri Lanka and then used his gun to take his own life, police said.

      The shootings took place in Siyambalanduwa, around 200 kilometres east of Colombo, soon after the school day had begun and caused panic among students, officers said.

     “Initial investigations have revealed that the shooting had taken place due a disputed love affair,” an officer at the local police station said.
