Need A Rugged Phone That Goes Where You Go? Meet the ultimate tradies phones

New Zealand's Best Plumber's Phones

  • Thermal imaging (Glory Pro and G1S)

The AGM Glory G1 Pro and AGM G1S are both fitted with the highest resolution (256×192) thermal imaging system available on a phone. In fact, it’s higher resolution than most dedicated (and expensive) thermal imaging devices. Now, with thermal on your phone, you can free up one of your old dedicated devices for someone else on your team. #MoreProductivity

  • Night Vision (Glory G1, Glory G1 Pro, G1S)

Operating in dark spaces and need a wider field of view than a torch offers? Or maybe a torch or flash reflects too much light back and makes it hard to see detail? The infrared night vision system on these models not only sheds light on dark corners but you can also take photos or video that can be quickly relayed to colleagues for input.

  • Dock charging (Glory G1, Glory G1 Pro, G1S)

Let’s face it, water can be a challenge in the plumbing business. The Glory range comes with the convenience of a desktop charging dock, meaning you may never have to open the rubber seal protecting the USB charging port. Instead, simply dry your phone off and place it in the desktop cradle to charge. The Glory G1 and G1 Pro can also be charged wirelessly.

  • 5G and 4G VoLTE (all models)

As 5G rolls out to your region over the coming months, your ability to send images and videos rapidly will greatly increase. In NZ, 5G is for data and messaging systems like WhatsApp, not phone calls. Ordinary calls will go out over the new VoLTE (voice over LTE) system. If your existing phone is more than a couple of years old there’s a good chance it doesn’t have VoLTE. You may notice in rural areas that you can’t get phone signal even though you are getting five bars of 4G. With the new Glory range you will never have that problem again. #AlwaysOn

  • Snow Battery (Glory G1, Glory Pro)

When you are working in icy conditions, the low temperatures drain your phone battery much faster. The AGM Glory models have solved that problem with an Antarctic-grade battery. Your phone will stay operating while you are doing the hard yards.

  • Waterproof, Rugged, Screen Warranty

Last but not least, all these models are IP68/IP69K waterproof, and US MIL-STD 810H shock resistant. Although any time glass takes a hit it can break, the frames of these phones are engineered for shock dissipation, reducing your risk of breakage. In the unlikely event of a screen break, if you purchase a warranty you’re covered for one free screen repair.

Something you need to be aware of...

The phones immediately above are operational on ALL New Zealand phone networks. For trade users, phone coverage is crucial. Models with VoWIFI will allow you or your staff to make or receive calls anywhere they can tap into an office or home wifi network. VoWIFI is currently only available on 2Degrees but is coming soon to Spark as well. In the meantime, you just have to load a 2Degrees sim card into one of the two sim slots, turn on Wifi calling in Settings, and you will have phone coverage even if the client's house has zero bars of signal. If you enable call forwarding to the 2Degrees card from your main Spark or Vodafone number, you will never miss a call on the job.

What The Reviewers Say:

With thermal and night cameras, the AGM Glory Pro is a rugged phone which offers a host of functionality – including a top-notch thermal camera. It’ll suit not just the typical tradesperson but campers, hunters, and all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts...

It’s immediately clear that AGM have done more than added a rough-and-tumble look to an average 5G phone and called it “rugged.” For many in the trades that seems to be enough; many rugged handsets are only 4G so we’re already moving up, but this device works to earn that ‘Pro’ moniker by packing practical features that could serve in contexts across professional trades (especially HVAC), camping, disaster relief and more.

AGM have taken temperature protection seriously too, meaning this handset will survive for a day at -27°˚C (-16.6°˚F), and even an hour at -40°˚C (-40˚°F) from its 6,200mAh battery, so you’ll be able to stand out in the cold and identify patches of warmth with that thermal camera, whether you are on a search and rescue or identifying issues on site. Construction workers and mountaineers understand the benefits of a device which will survive the cold, and work where there isn’t traditional light. Indeed it can provide up to 120 lumens via a flashlight at the top (or front, if you’re using it like a flashlight); about twice as bright as most phones...

...The thermal camera’s own app comes to make sense once you appreciate that the device is there to measure the surface temperature it sees as well as reveal variation. This it does well after a slight pause when coming to life, especially in comparison to the shuddering frame rates of other thermal devices on the market. Here it can be seen clearly identifying the poor insulation in these glass doors (as well as spotting the reflected warmth of the photographer in the glass)...we can’t imagine a plumber, explorer, window fitter, geek or movie fan who wouldn’t want this feature so well implemented...

The thermal camera, at 256 x 192 pixels, is better than most phones or thermal cameras, and has a pleasing 25fps. It’d be able to spot an unconscious person or animal in the dark at around 50m..

Where this handset becomes glorious is when you need to do things with it that another phone just wouldn’t let you. Yes, that dropability is nominally found elsewhere but it is very very convincing here, and can be pushed past the minimum requirements for the ingress spec. Survival at low temperatures is better than most rugged phones, the thermal camera is not just the cheapest component but a real winner.

There are obvious uses for mountaineers, tradespeople and those with money to burn who like the look.

Kitchen sink is what came to mind when we first heard of the AGM Glory, a rugged smartphone  that aims to offer as many features as possible. Its most obvious feature is the massive speaker that adorns its back and is the most powerful we’ve heard on a smartphone. It justifies AGM’s decision to “go large” with the Glory....

Add in 8GB of RAM, 256GB onboard storage, wireless charging, a two year warranty, a battery that can sustain very low temperatures (and still be operational), an IR camera  and you’ve got a pretty compelling outdoor smartphone.

an important factor for a rugged smartphone is the peak brightness of the display and after checking it out for a bit, the AGM Glory Pro definitely has a brighter display than an iPhone or a Pixel smartphone. After checking it with a dedicated tool, I saw that it went up to 860 nits, which is very much acceptable.

construction workers and, overall people that work in harsh environments cannot use a regular smartphone for long, so devices such as the AGM Glory Pro can come in handy. In terms of ruggedness, I would have made the lip surrounding the screen deeper, but other than that, this is one of the most rugged devices out there (it even survived my own extreme temperature test). Everything else is what one would expect from a midrange smartphone. You can play any game, the UI is responsive, the cameras are good and the battery life is amazing. The price tag is a bit elevated, but AGM justifies it by adding a welcomed thermal camera (to become a proper competitor to the CAT S62 Pro), the night vision IR camera, 5G support and the wireless charging.

Why buy from us?

EXPERIENCE: We've sold thousands of these phones

Which means we know which ones are lemons, and we don't sell those

Stores that boast "the largest selection" can often be found offering disappointing 'budget' models from the main brands that don't perform. We prefer to offer an exclusive handpicked range of phones with more power and the toughness you need. Because life's too short to be stuck with a disappointing phone.

RELIABILITY: If it's our fault, we'll fix or replace

You aren't dealing with an Asian wholesaler. You are dealing with Auckland.

Our phones are available at low trade-only prices, or with varying levels of warranty cover up to two years. Unlike other stores, we have a service team who know these phones. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, we have the expertise to deal with it.

RAPID SHIPPING: We don't offer slow 'free' shipping

When you need a new phone you need it quickly, not in three weeks' time. We ship via DHL Express

A customer in Melbourne ordered Friday morning and had it delivered on Sunday. While that case was exceptional, you will in most cases receive your new phone in 2-5 working days as long as there's no supply delay

Best decision I've made for a long time! Great technical support, help is only a phone call away, I've taken photos underwater, dropped it and it has dealt with all the abuse this hunter, kayak fishing tradie painter can throw at it....and the new Blackview looks even better. Do not hesitate to deal with the genuine agents in NZ , Outdoor Phone Store
