Rio de Janeiro (dpa) – Five people were injured when a man opened
fire in a square in the Brazilian town of Hortolandia, around 110
kilometres from Sao Paulo, police said Saturday.
The attack happened just before midnight Friday in an area that is
very popular with young people. Three adults and two teenagers were
taken to a hospital.
Police suspect that the incident involved a vendetta between local
drug dealers, as one of the injured had a police record for drug
trafficking.
No suspects had been identified by Saturday.
