New Treaty of Waitangi book tops NZ and Aust sales on Amazon

Journalist Ian Wishart’s compelling new book on the colonisation of New Zealand and the real story behind the Treaty of Waitangi has shot to the top of the New Zealand and Australian bestseller lists on Amazon.com.

“The Great Divide: The Story of New Zealand & Its Treaty” went onsale in bookstores last Monday and quickly became the top-selling NZ nonfiction title for online retailer Mighty Ape this week.

However, in a surprising twist, the book is also dominating Amazon’s New Zealand and Australia categories.

The book has been hailed by people on both sides of the Treaty of Waitangi debate – a difficult thing to achieve given the heated nature of the controversy.
