SUMMERSIDE, Prince Edward Island, Sept. 30 (UPI) —
A Prince Edward Island man was sentenced to five days in jail for biting his 4-year-old daughter, officials said.
The man said he was trying to get the little girl to stop biting her brother by showing her what it feels like. The bruise, which was discovered by the girl’s grandmother last February and reported to child welfare officials, landed the man before a judge, who sentenced him to five days in jail and a year’s probation, the National Post reported Friday.
The father, whose identity was not revealed, is required to attend anger management courses and is barred from physically disciplining the children in his care.
Child and Family Services said the father was not completely compliant with the agency, failed to complete an addiction program and tested positive for marijuana, the newspaper said.
