Prague (dpa) – A 56-year-old man died and three people were injured in a generator blast in the Czech Republic, officials said on Thursday.

The generator exploded and caught on fire in a plant in the western town of Vresova near the German border and owned by Sokolovska Uhelna, a power producing and mining firm.

Two of the injured inhaled the fumes, while the third man sustained burns on his arm, emergency services spokesman Lukas Hutta said.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately known and is under investigation.
